Celebrating the Cancer Council’s Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea, here are our top tips for making this a special time in your day with friends and colleagues.

Morning tea is perfect for sweet treats. Here are a few of our favourites:

Scones

A tea party wouldn’t be a tea party without scones. Scones can be served on a tiered cake stand or for a more rustic approach served in a nicely decorated basket. Make your table look extra special with a few small pots for cream and jam.

Try our recipe for traditional scones.

Sponge Cake

Another tea party classic is the Sponge Cake. With its cream and jam sandwich between fluffy sponge, this cake is sure to be a favourite.

Do you have friends with dietary restrictions? Try our Gluten Free Feather-Light Sponge.

Cupcakes

With so many different ways you can enjoy this darling of cakes, it’s near impossible to choose which one will suit your party. We feel that there is no bad option!

For a flavoursome variation, try the Vanilla Cupcakes by Kirstin Tibballs

Slice

With a rich gooey centre and chocolate top this Dark Caramel Sticky Slice is a perfect pairing with your favourite cup of tea.

The Tea

Treat your guests to teas they have tried and loved - and some new ones which they may be yet to try. Set out milk, honey and sugar cubes to serve.

Top Presentation Tip

If you have a three tier server, scones go on top, sandwiches in the middle and desserts on the bottom.
