What are the best beans for espresso machines?
Generally, we recommend dark roast beans for espresso as they deliver a rich and full-bodied flavour—pairing well with milk-based drinks like lattes, cappuccinos and flat whites (the old faithful of Aussie coffee culture). But you can also use light and medium roasts if you prefer a brighter, fruitier taste. The most important thing is to use freshly ground, whole beans instead of pre-ground coffee.
It’s a joy to try different beans. And our KitchenAid espresso machines make that easy. Simply twist and lift to easily remove your bean hopper to empty, exchange or refill your favourite beans. Learn more about espresso with our guide to espresso vs coffee and what is espresso?
