Rated 5 out of 5 by Karen H from Kitchen aid Stand Mixer; a warning! For such a quality and expensive item it would seem appropriate to have a stainless steel dough hook as part of the accessories with purchase. A poor quality alloy dough hook is no match for the lovely weight SS replacement I have just purchased from Kitchen Aid. However if it had been the lovely weight SS one I have just purchased, my machine may have been damaged. I confess here so as to warn others. I used to store my attachments in the bowl until wiping down the appliance I knocked the On switch forward (as I had not turned off the power). Despite only a moment in action the alloy dough hook supplied with the appliance, broke. I love my Kitchen Aid mixer. It is my favourite and most used appliance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Heather185 from Best Pizza and Breads. Stronger and heavier than the coated hook. I find kneads doughs much better, making them prove and bake much better and lighter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Andrew S from Great product but ridiculous that you have to buy Finally I have a non staining no breakable dough hook, but why oh why did I have to buy a replacement for the original which had enamel chipped away just like the orignal, and then buy a stainless steel looking one from Kitchen-aide that turned out to be horribly staining burnished metal and then finally pay for my fourth one here!!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by Janice D from Dough hook coating chipping into mixture Thought I was purchasing "state of the art" quality product. Horrified to find bits of coating on dough hook flaking off into the mixture. no way I can use it again which severely limits my recipe options for what I like to use my kitchen aid for. I have read reviews on your website with regard to this problem so it's obviously a design fault. In the interest of good faith I am requesting a free of charge replacement stainless steel dough hook. Thank you in anticipation. Janice

Rated 5 out of 5 by Baker Chick from Hooked on the stainless steel dough hook I recently replaced my original dough hook with the new stainless steel version. It is much heavier but it works more efficiently when mixing dough. It is also more durable as it is chip resistant and can be placed in the dishwasher. I have used it a few times now and I'm very happy with its performance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Banana from Worthy upgrade from plastic coated version Excellent dough hook, it IS dishwasher safe unlike the standard plastic coated one, and dough comes off easier. Works as expected. Is very heavy. They should supply THIS with the machine not the plastic coated one that will crack and leave bits in your bread.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Inga from Stainless steel dough hook a winner I am super impressed with this stainless steel dough hook. I bought it because I previously had 2 dough hooks, the external coating of which had peeled off in pieces! This is so annoying and I gather a problem with the standard dough hooks. The stainless steel dough hook is strong and functional. I bought it online and delivery was free - and fast! Very happy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Bakerin from Sturdy I had to buy it as a replacement, as the hook that came with the machine started chipping. This hook is heavy and feels sturdy, although it has a somewhat rough finish in places. I expected the product to be manufactured in the U.S., but it is, as most items these days, made in the PRC…Disappointing.
