You know what they say: It doesn’t count if it doesn’t happen on social media!
Make it Personal
Everyone loves to feel special and thought-of and individualised place cards are a great way of achieving this. Plus having a predetermined seating plan encourages your guests to spend time with people they might not necessarily choose to! If you’re having an Easter catch-up, why not write your guests names on eggs and place them in little nests, like the below?

A Touch of Nature
An organic and colourful arrangement adds a special touch to your table setting. This doesn’t have to be an expensive exercise. Spend an hour or so walking around the neighbourhood. Start with some greenery, and then add one or two complimentary colours – such as purple and orange. Native banksias are in flower throughout autumn and are especially plentiful in coastal regions. An abundant centrepiece of seasonal fruits such as figs, pomegranates, apricots and grapes can also look divine.

Mix & Match
Don’t get to matchy-matchy when setting the table. Adding different textures and colours creates a bright and vibrant atmosphere. And don’t hold back on colour! If you’re setting the table for an Easter event, there are no set colours or themes you need to follow, so why not be bright and bold with your tablecloth, placemats, decorations and glassware.

Have a Centrepiece
Give your table setting an anchor by starting with a beautiful centrepiece. Perhaps it’s a dramatic candelabra, an interesting candle cluster or an exotic piece of foliage. Use your centrepiece to give direction to the rest of the setting.

Layout is everything!
Don’t forget to allow room for the food! Make sure you are conscious of how many dishes you’ll be placing on the table and where they need to go. You want the table setting to look just as beautiful when you put the food down and over the course of the meal. Also, ensure that plates can be easily passed around so that everyone gets to taste and enjoy all that’s on offer.
