Pudding Ingredients
- 1½ cups self-raising flour
- 2 tbsp cocoa powder
- ½ cup sugar
- 125 g butter, cut into cubes and softened
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ½ cup milk
Chocolate Sauce Ingredients
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 2 tbsp cocoa powder
- 1 ½ cup boiling water
Method
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (160°C fan-forced). Lightly grease a 2 L ovenproof dish.
- Place the flour, cocoa powder, and sugar into the mixer bowl fitted with the flat beater. Mix on Speed 2 until combined.
- With the mixer running on Speed 2, add the butter one piece at a time until incorporated. Add the eggs, vanilla extract, and milk. Increase to Speed 4 and mix for 1 minute.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish.
- To make the sauce, combine the brown sugar, cocoa powder, and boiling water in a bowl. Stir until the sugar has dissolved.
- Carefully pour the sauce evenly over the batter.
- Bake for 40 minutes, or until the pudding is cooked through and the sauce has formed underneath.
