Prep Time: 10 min.

Cook Time: 15 min.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine softened
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 cups plain flour
  • 3/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • Extra granulated sugar

Spider toppings

  • 36 chocolate coated almonds
  • 36 chocolate coated sultanas
  • White icing
  • Melting chocolate

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees.
  2. In large bowl, beat 1/2 cup granulated sugar, the brown sugar, peanut butter, butter and egg with your KitchenAid stand mixer on medium speed until well blended. Stir in flour, baking soda and baking powder until dough forms.
  3. Roll dough into 3cm balls then into the additional sugar. Put them 3cm apart on baking paper.
  4. Bake 8-10 minutes until golden. Use a small spoon and indent the middle of each cookie. Let cool on a cooling rack.
  5. Once cooled, pipe chocolate dots in the middle of the cookie then stick one chocolate coated almond for the spider’s bum and 1 chocolate coated sultana for the head. Pipe chocolate legs coming out of the body and white icing piped for the little eyes
  6. Allow to cool until the chocolate is hard. Enjoy!
