Elegant and Sleek, but ...
I bought the toaster 2 days ago and everything we have tried to toast (hot cross buns, bread rolls, bread) has burnt and that is while on the lightest setting. Now that I have read the other reviews I realise it is not a faulty toaster that I have bought, it is a design failure. V disappointed as have a kitchen aid mixer and blender and both have performed excellently. It seems that the toaster had missed out on thorough testing.

A little better than most
Toasting is very even but that's all this toaster has over others. It has the same inherent issue as every other toaster I have tried. Set the shade when the toaster is cold, toasts fine. Then toast a second batch while the toaster is hot and the toast is burnt. Our previous $25 toaster did the same job. You can't lift the toast to see its progress.
The shade adjustment is easy to accidentally change its setting so for the price it's not reliable.

Works perfectly - I question the reviews
I bought the toaster before reading the reviews and then got worried.
I shouldn’t have because it toasts perfectly.
I prefer this model to the other 4 slice toaster as it has long toast slots to accomodate larger slices of bread like sourdough.
Overall I love it but a note to the designers that a vertical slider with a flat surface for setting toasting level is a stupid idea. It looks more like the toast lowering lever than the actual one with a small round knob on it (which doesn’t have that good firm flat surface to push down on)
I can’t help but think that the poor review could in part be due to this design where people hit the wrong lever.
Please go back to a round knob for toast level settings and a flat paddle to lower the toast. This design shouldn’t have passed functional testing.

Toasts Unevenly
I bought this a month ago and have been a bit disappointed with the way it toasts unevenly. One side is perfect and the other alot darker. Or the middle is ok and crusts burnt. Like the look and design and how it can toast 4 pieces of bread or 2 larger ones, crumpet setting etc. Photo shows difference of bread toasted in the same slot at the same time.

Beautiful toaster
Really nice toaster with plenty of toasting options. Only thing i would say is settings for medium the corner of my toast is charcoal so best to start light. Cant imagine what dark would be like or the option to toast longer after dark haha but once you work out sensitive settings it works great. Also just like to mention all my kitchenaid items arrived quickly after ordering much faster than expected so thank you

Poor quality toasting
My toaster was expensive and I expected good consistent toasting. It is very slow, burns in patches, pale in others, dries out the bread and now warming one side while the other is still uncooked. I am more than disappointed. A cheap toaster would do much better. This one just "looks" good. From other reviews this is common, I would never buy another and I will spread the word.

Constantly burns edges
Have had this toaster for 6 months, use it daily and despite fiddling and tweaking the settings and the position of the bread, it constantly burns the edges of the bread closest to the centre of the toaster. Even on the lightest toast setting, it still burns the edges. I would have expected something like this with a cheaper brand, but I expect so much more with KitchenAid.
