Customer Reviews

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It's good if you need a glass bowl. Pros: A big wide capacity. Microwave safe for melting butter or chocolate. Dishwasher safe. Cons: Can be quite heavy. Can get slippery when wet. Can chip and break if knock it or drop it. Overall: If you need a bowl where it's microwave safe this can be a good choice for you. But a $169 glass bowl isn't worth the value when you can break it easy compared to the stainless steel version.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Huge bowl, easily broken My glass bowl chipped in the dishwasher only months after having it. Kitchenaid said to ignore the "dishwasher safe" labelling and hand wash instead but I find it too heavy to hand wash properly. They replaced the bowl which was a bonus but have recently bought stainless steel just in case. The glass bowl is excellent for watching what you're making but Kitchenaid boasts robust products and this one just doesn't cut it for me.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Chipped easily I used to sell kitchenAid mixers. So I’m super love the product and could never understand how people would break the glass bowls. I wash washed my glass bowl. Stored my mixer in an appliance cupboard and then one day noticed the lip was cracked, then the bottom cracked. Never out in dishwasher and used with utmost care. It’s a great bowl but heavy. I wouldn’t recommend for people with wrist or arm issues. Replaced the bowl now with the metal 4:8 bowl.
