In collaboration with Cake Picnic, we brought the global movement to the Royal Botanic Gardens Sydney to spotlight our 2026 Colour of the Year - Spearmint. 500 tickets were released and just like that, the event sold out overnight!
With sweeping views of the Harbour Bridge and Sydney Opera House, and the forecast being nothing but sunshine after weeks of rain and grey skies, it couldn’t have been the most perfect morning. Attendees arrived with cakes in hand, all works of delicious art. Walking through the Spearmint-themed archway, they were greeted by rows and rows of tables filled with exactly 395 cakes before diving in an all you can eat experience!
Some of our favourite cakes have got to be the spearmint-themed cakes from Katherine Sabbath and Baked Bouquet, alongside the “Once Upon a Picnic Cake” by Pinch of Pink Patisserie and the celebration spearmint-themed cake by Sweet Street Cakery… just to name a few.

And just to add to the fun, we brought out a giant 4-tier cake for photo moments, performers dressed up in cake dresses and opportunities for attendees to win, such as the NEW Artisan Plus Stand Mixer.

Also announced on the day are our best dressed winners Hilary and Claire who both won a Spearmint Stand Mixer and at the end of the event, we gave away some goodie bags that attendees can enjoy post picnic!

We want to thank Elisa Sunga, founder of Cake Picnic, Danny and the whole Cake Picnic team, and The Concierge Agency for working with us to bring the viral community event to Sydney, as well as Evolution Hospitality Institute for helping out from registration all the way to take down. And of course we want to give a huge THANK YOU to all our attendees for showcasing your cakes and enjoying your endless sweet treats for the day!
