Rated 1 out of 5 by slsq from Worst 'Shield' Ever - would give 0 stars if I can Have been using my KitchenAid Tilt-Head Stand Mixer for over a year now and every single time I want to use the 'shield', I am reminded why I never want to again. Having owned multiple brands of stand mixers, this is truly the worst shield there is and should never be called a shield. It such a shame for such an amazing brand and high-quality stand mixer. It does NOT protect any sort of flour or liquid from flying out of the bowl. A dollar-store tea towel will do the trick a hundred times better than this extremely poorly designed shield. Mine came with the mixer but please save yourself some money and NEVER buy this on its own!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Dracula’s daughter from Handy helper I was heartened to find when this arrived to find that this is not as rigid as I expected it would be. The material that it is made from has a fair bit of flex in it which will undoubtedly make it quite durable and way les likely to crack. This will fix one of the very few weaknesses this machine has. First it helps adding ingredients to the bowl while in use, which because of the planetary motion of the beater can be quite hard to do & also it eliminates splashes. So it’s good value for money and something you will use…absolutely worth having.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Judi from Not a shield Not a shield, I thought it would be a real shield like my kenwood, there's a huge gap at the back and a gap at the top as well as around the edges. It falls off/in as well. There's just as much mess using this as with out, flour everywhere and batter splatters. Unfortunately purchased 2 of them now stuck with them.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Ousmane from Might work for some not for the ksm170 Glas bowl Well despite the fact I asked support if it will fit onto my ksm170 glass bowl... it doesn’t and I can’t use it. Or I gotta have to hold it to be able to use it which makes it pointless

Rated 1 out of 5 by Confused from Disappointed!!!! I have just purchased my benchmixer that came with the pouring shield. Well I love the machine, but the shield seems pointless. As with ALL other reviews, the mixture spits out from the massive gap in the shield. Trying to position it where would spit and create less mess is impossible. It appears that kitchenaid have not listened to the last 5 years of reviews and not changed anything about it in the last five years!!!!! I can buy a cheap and nasty machine and it comes with a fully enclosed splatter guard……NO MESS! Seems very flimsy to me.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Eden from Dissapointed. Not a good 1st KitchenAid experience. Received the KitchenAid as a gift which came with this, the bowl and 3 whisking/stirring attachments. I am not sure why it's included...perhaps to make the package look more appealing and substanial overall however it's very disappointing when opening and seeing the design and quality of this accessory. It's even warped slightly even though it seemed packaged in the box correctly. Not a good start to my KitchenAid experience. It does not sit on right, falling off everytime I have used it, even when I hold it down, which I shouldn't have to do while trying to add indredients etc, it spits out flour under the rim and through the large gap which doesn't shield the machine or myself for about a 1/4 of the stainless steel bowl that was also included in the package. Am very hesitant in buying any other accessories now...more so if I am going to lose some of the precise ingredients over the shield that I have added for a baking recipe for example. Followed all instructions regarding starting off slow etc but makes no difference. It makes batter go flying too. I would give a 0 star rating on this if avialable. Looking at the other reviews now, I wouldn't be alone. Very dissapointed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Marry from No stars if possible My daughter gave me a kitchenaid mixer as a gift. I can only say I loath it. The pouring shield falls off or in the bowl. Flour and mixture goes everywhere with or without the shield, I cannot believe how bad these mixers are. Mines back in the shed and I use my old mixer NOT a kitchenaid.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Dommo25 from Not Penski (KitchenAid) material My pouring shield came out of the box warped such that, if you place it on a flat surface, you can clearly see it is NOT flat. I thought that was why it didn't 'snap' onto the rim of the bowl but KitchenAid customer service said it was only supposed to rest on top of the bowl and so diagreed that the warping was a problem. Minor annoyance, but still ...
