Powerful
I bought this mixer to replace my smaller Kitchenaid Artisan stand mixer. It's motor is powerful and doesn't bounce off my bench at high speed. It's a great machine however I find it difficult to put the attachments on. I have to have the bowl in place first before fitting the attachments which is annoying should I want to remove the bowl to scrape down. Also another point I don't like about it is that the beater doesn't reach the bottom of the bowl so unmixed flour etc remains stuck.
I like the mixer for the power as I make a lot of dough however usability is terrible and would prefer the smaller tilt head design.

It’s OK, not built as well as older machines
After 2 years, this mixer needed a new PCB at a cost of a few hundred dollars. I attempted to contact KitchenAid Australia via their website, Facebook page and messenger (their phone contact waiting time was over an hour). I wanted to ask if it was acceptable for the circuit board to disintegrate after 2 years. 2 months on, I’ve still had no reply. Quite disappointed with the product, but even more disappointed with the service.

Good but I expected better.
5KSM7581. First Kitchenaid product I've bought or had experience with, though researched and heard a lot about the stand mixers being great. First impressions were great, looks and feels solid. Putting the bowl onto the machine is direct and mechanically solid. The lift mechanism, though a bit loose but not sloppy, has a mechanical kind of operation also. Connecting up the dough hook, again is loose rather than snug in it's place. The other attachments in the box, k beater and whisk, are the same so guessing that's the design. Emptied a kilo of plain flour, 600ml water and yeast, salt and turned it on second speed, power of the motor is obvious, as is it's sound. I wouldn't say it's noisy, rather a little more industrial than 'quiet'. As it is the 'most powerful yet' and the pro-line series I guess that's to be expected but the claim was 'Quiet'. The dough hook rattles at it's attachment as it turns the dough due to being a sloppy fit but made short work of a kilo of dough. Overall I'm looking forward to using the machine but from the product advertising and claims I would have to say it's not what I expected. Hope this helps.

Seriously beautiful and powerful
I bought this machine because my previous mixer wasn't powerful or large enough to handle big batches of bread and pizza dough. The machine itself is beautiful (the pearl colour looks great in my white kitchen) but putting the bowl in and out does take some getting used to after previously using a tilt mixer. It is very stable but also very heavy, so not suited to constantly moving in and out of cupboards. The attachments certainly add to the charm of the mixer. My sister gave me the pasta attachments for Christmas and it is so much easier than the manual pasta maker. Downside being there isn't as many bowl accessories as the tilt mixer.

I'm in love!
I've wanted a Kitchenaid for years and finally received one for my birthday this year. We have used it almost every day and have since bought the ice cream attachment. I've made dairy free ice cream (house full of lactose intolerant people) and an abundance of baked goods. We decided to go for this model due to size of the bowl and motor and I'm so happy we did. This is a fantastic machine and my only regret is I didn't buy myself one years ago. Incredibly easy to use.

Excellent mixer as expected from KItchenAid
I purchased this mixer predominantly to make dough mix. I still have a KitchenAid KSM150 which is about 20 years old and still working beautifully but as I make enough dough for 2 loaves thought it was time to upgrade. This mixer is a dream, attaching the bowl took a little while to become accustomed to but the mixer is so much more stable when handling a heavy mix. I love both my mixers and would not consider a different brand.

Disappointing
I have been using this for over a year. Disappointing impression but I had to be fair and gave it a good shot of using before writing a review. One year later still disappointing. I have only just found out you can buy a flex edge beater and to be fair this solves a lot of problems. But I will write my review based on the machine as is so 1. the fact that you have to scrape the bowl manually, makes the bowl-lift function very inconvenient. One must lower the bowl, detach the beater/whisk, remove the bowl then scrape... and then repeat a number of times during the process before you're satisfied of your mix. SO much mess when you have a runny batter, and very inefficient when you have a heavy batch. So yes I understand this problem is easily solved with a flex edge beater so my next point is, the flex edge beater should just come with the machine. This mixer is already a "top-of-the-range product" which cost premium, and yet the customer have to buy the beater separate to actually make it a better product? Not happy with having to do that but I don't have a choice now.
What do I like about the machine? Its power and bowl capacity definitely a win. But guess what, a little after a year my bowl had a crack from a little rust spot. Presumably from using the dishwasher. If the bowl isn't dishwasher safe it failed to mentioned this in FAQ's. But then again, the bowl really SHOULD be dishwasher safe regardless because this is what we are paying for these days. Convenience, functionality, and long-wear. Great that the warranty covers the machine for 5 years but everything else 1 year. Not uncommon I know but when my bowl cracks just after a year and I had to buy another because it isn't covered under warranty. NOT HAPPY.
All things considered it does what you want it to do eventually. Just not efficiently or reliably.

Love using pearl
Bought last week, use pearl every day... easy to use, great results. She performs beautifully, making light work of every task I give her. Family loving the results!
