Solid product with poor attachments and support
I have had my KitchenAid for about 4 years now and use it mainly for making bread. The KitchenAid itself is a solid product and gives me confidence that it will ist another years.
I do however found that the dough hook is poorly designed. The paint comes off easily and is ruining my bread dough. It made the KitchenAid unusable for me now. In addition this seems to be a common problem and a new dough hook has been released.
Although I contacted KitchenAid over two weeks ago, I haven’t heard back from them yet so I’d rate the customer support poorly too.
I would give the machine a solid five star if the two issues above would be addressed.

Looks Great. Broke down after 3 years.
Was given the Candy Apple Read KitchenAid mixer a few years ago as a birthday gift. Loved it. Made plenty of cakes and biscuits with it over the few years. Unfortunately 2 months ago, the mixer stopped mixing. The agitator stopped going around. Have contacted KitchenAid via email but had no response. I would hope this could be repaired under warranty as I expect a mixer to last longer than a few years.

Love it!
I purchased this a few weeks ago and I have been keeping myself busy during ISO time baking cakes and sharing them with my neighbours, delivery only of course. A wonderful mixer, great attachments, years of baking ahead.

Good value
I bought this 2 years 8 months ago unfortunately I’ve had to have it repaired recently as the speed control not working as it should. Hopefully repair will last longer than 2 years.

Great customer service but...
I have recently engaged with your customer service team regarding a problem I had with my mixer (it stopped mixing). Huge plaudits for your after sales service team. I was contacted almost immediately and a repair was organised.
My concern however is a product flaw within the mixer itself. When I took it in for repair the guys asked if I was making dough at the time. Perplexed I replied that I was and 'why?'. He responded that he gets heaps of this same repair and they always occur when people are mixing dough. I responded that I was using the dough hook but he told me there were 3 things I needed to be aware of: don't use a speed higher than 2, don't use more than 500 gms of dry ingredients at a time, don't mix for more than 5 minutes.
I must admit I was floored when I turned around and saw all the KitchenAid mixers he had lined up on his workshop bench. There is obviously a design flaw with the gears in the machine and for such a high price item, I don't think this is an acceptable flaw. Your marketing team has spent so much time and money on a campaign to pitch your product as a hard working, semi professional piece of kit and it can't handle a reasonable expectation (if there is a dough hook, one should be able to make dough).
