Rated 1 out of 5 by KATIE D from VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THIS KETTLE! I bought this kettle recently, with high hopes. Very quickly it developed an unattractive film on the stainless steel base, inside the kettle. I used only filtered water, emptied the kettle after each use and performed the vinegar cleaning procedure as recommended. However, the unpleasant film kept returning, as soon as I filled the kettle (with fresh filtered water) and boiled it. This was scary, in view of my autoimmune issues. I returned the kettle to the retailer from whom I had bought it and after inspecting it and agreeing that there was a problem, they suggested I contact KitchenAid regarding the problem. I did this and KitchenAid advised me to go back to the retailer for a refund and they said they'd support any claim made. The support, however, didn't happen and the retailer refunded my money as goodwill. They said KitchenAid wouldn't be compensating them for the loss. Not a good story!

Rated 1 out of 5 by Milo from Corroded within a year What a disappointment after loving our other kitchen aid products so much (mixer and toaster). The inside of the kettle was covered in rust within a year of purchase and Kitchenaid did not allow warranty claim saying they had no record of the online order placed directly with them less than a year earlier.

Rated 1 out of 5 by DB82 from Surprisingly Ordinary Received this item as a gift at Christmas. Paint already chipping from the outer base, and upon closer inspection, mould starting to grow internally - after two weeks. I wouldn't expect this from a $15 kettle, let alone one ten times that price. To KitchenAid's credit, their customer service team have been great. Responding to emails within a day (rare these days) and they have organised to send me a new one, but, wondering whether the new one is going to be plagued with the same issues. I guess we shall see.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Bon Raf from Disappointed Water is reacting with lid causing oxidation around edge of lid. Lid material is not full stainless steel material or chrome plated.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Anonymous from Size matters I purchased the Artisan kettle to compliment my Artisan 4 slice toaster. I feel the size of this kettle is disproportionate to the toaster & it looks too small to be considered a matching kettle to the toaster, which is quite large. I can not fault the performance, comfort of the design when using or the finish of the kettle. There was another kettle within the range which is larger but was a matte finish and did not compliment either the toaster of other items in my kitchen.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Annoy from Electric Kettle Empire Red I got this as a birthday present. Due to the funky taste it gives to the water after boiling, I have been given a replacement for free. Unfortunately the replaced one carries a similar smell also but bearable, so I am not going to go through all the hassle to complain again!

Rated 5 out of 5 by BobH from Well desgined product We purchased this kettle to replace one of another well known brand as the plastic parts of the lid hinge broke. Thte KitchendAid product in contrast feels very well made, has a removable lid which we prefer and an internal water guage which makes it easier to judge how much water you have added when filling. The handle remains cool at all times and the kettle is reasoanbly quiet. The 1.25L capacity is perfect for just the two of us.

Rated 2 out of 5 by MitchB from Aesthetically pleasing, but that’s all This kettle is small, barely enough for two mugs of coffee or tea and requires a refill every time. There is no outside gauge to determine water level, and the inside water level is difficult to see. Like other users I’ve found this kettle develops scale very quickly, but I haven’t experienced the issue related to plastic odour. After just over two weeks of use the kettle is noisy. And the paint finish under the lid is already eroding so I’m not convinced of it lasting much longer. I’m really not happy with this kettle and expected better of Kitchenaid
