Love the Stand Mixer
Had one of these before back in Canada and bought the Australian version for my kitchen here. Works just as expected and is a piwerhouse in the kitchen. The only one thing that would be useful is a quick note to come with the unboxing re: the spring on the cam arm. As of late 2016, the locking mechanism that holds the beater or whisk does not come with a spring or retention washer. At first I thought this was a manufacturing defect, but a quick google search told me otherwise. While kitchenaid has not updated their literature, it would be helpful to include a half page insert just explaining that this is to be expected. Overall though, the machine is great!

Bad luck or quality problems
This is the second KitchenAid mixer I bought in a month. Returned the first KSM160 faulty and got a refund from the store as they didn't have a replacement in stock. With the refund just able to buy a lower model from a stockist store. Unfortunately, this one got speed lever problem. It starts at 2 and stops at 1. Fed up with all these.

Time-tested Reliability
My mom had a similar KitchenAid mixer for many years, as did my best friend, and both could not speak highly enough of their mixers. I have many happy memories using my mom’s mixer and I’m so happy I now have one of my own. It is everything I wanted and more. I’m already making lots of beautiful messes and delicious treats with it!

Sad and disappointed from
Disappointed mixer lasted to just out of warranty
Have contacted service department in regards to oil leaking from mixer and was told that it’s out of warranty so nothing they can do for me. I bought this mixer instead of cheaper brands as i thought I was buying a quality item. Was told too much use or direct sunlight or under use would cause this problem. I use this machine roughly every six weeks sometimes as my family are grown up now.
But thought having a kitchenaide would be wonderful to own. For the price of this mixer and only lasting until the warranty period is very disappointing. I was told that it is food grade oil so it will be ok in contact with food. I have a strange motor noise coming from it and because of the oil is attracting cockroaches... yes I do have my house pest control but this are the large flying cockroaches that seem to be attractived to the oil. Very disappointed with both Customer service staff, would not recommend this machine because I was looking forward to using it for a much longer period!

Most beautiful machine I own
I was gifted my KitchenAid for my 30th birthday from my husband, I’m a chef/baker/pastry chef and had dreamed of owning one of these babies for about 20 years. I absolutely love it and use it for nearly everything I do in my kitchen.

3 years old and it’s burnt out!
I bought this machine only three years ago. It’s only been used a handful of times and the motor has already burnt out. Tremendously disappointed and not looking forward to the warranty process

WORTH WAITING FOR, BUT....
I've wanted a kitchenaid mixer for quite a while.
When my old Mixmaster finally gave up the ghost, it was time.
I've been happy with the 2 or 3 things I've done with it so far.
There are 2 buts:
I think the instruction book is poor, skimpy and cheap. I've been a confident cook for 50 years, but I'd have liked some recipes to help me get started with a new (expensive) appliance. And I don't know yet what real capacity the bowl has. I doubled my shortbread recipe...but could I have tripled it?
Second: I noticed that my flat beater had a tiny chip out of the enamel when I first went to use it. I don't know whether this will affect the life of the beater or not, so I don't know how significant this is. but it makes me uneasy.
Another but: I answered the age questtion wrongly, and deliberately. i can't see why this is appropriate.
