Terrible Experience
I've purchased a KitchenAid Blender, Food Processor, Kettle, Toaster, Stand Mixer in the last 30 days and the experience with the Whirlpool (holding company of KitchenAid support) is absolutely horrendous.
They were closed and unavailable on the days I ordered the product I needed support on, then refused to assist when I needed assistance and support on the order, and now are paying lip service and being absolutely condescending in their replies.
The KitchenAid product is quality, but the support and after sale experience in absolutely unacceptable and has put me off the brand totally.

Good features, but does it toast properly?
We've had our KMT223 for a week and can't say we are wrapt in it.
The power-operated lowering of the toast impresses, along with the arms that grab the slice and hold it still, thus preventing blockages.
Not so impressive is the toast colouring control, in that it doesn't move progressively ie, it has a click arrangement, say, No2 to No3, which then can burn the toast, whereas a position in between would suffice.
We find, too, that the toast is not cooked evenly on both sides, replicating the crumpet setting, which isn't engaged. And the elements aren't burning uniformally, with the middle elements brighter than those on the edges.
Altogether, a disappointing purchase, especially considering its high price.

It looks good pity it doesn't work as well
Been using it for a week, I have English Muffins for breakfast, I have to put them through twice set on crumpet setting and on max setting 7, then have to turn it off half way through second run!! Expensive for a toaster I find it unsatisfactory and annoying!!!! Look forward to your reply.

Good but not perfect
Is there no toaster that manages to toast both sides of the bread evenly? I had great hopes for this one but it's still not there. The outside is always lighter and if you look down while it's on, you can see the elements on that side are not as bright.
The countdown feature and dials though are really good. And I love the colour - the red looks very classy. It just didn't quite tick all the boxes for me.

An expensive buy that doesn't hit the spot
Our 2-slice toaster isn't exactly tops for performance. Sure, it has a power feature and grills to stop the bread breaking, but it does not toast evenly. Look inside when it's on and it's obvious the elements aren't uniformly lit.
There are no graduations between 'numbers', eg, it's set to 4 or 5, but nothing in between. And, to cook crumpets takes two 'runs' and even then, they are poorly toasted.
On a positive note we find that slices placed in the toaster 'portrait' and not laying down, cook better.

Best toaster I have ever owned
The future is now – a countdown display and a dedicated button to keep the toast warm and yes also “toasty”. But, best of all, I Iove how the toaster automatically lowers the bread and then raises the toast. This feature must be why “KitchenAid” offers an exceptionally long two-year warranty. Manually lowered and raised toasters would be subjected to much harsher wear and tear and so breakdown sooner. BEST TOASTER I HAVE EVER OWNED :)

Tripping our power circuit.
I am so disappointed with Kitchen aid!!
I bought the coffee machine and LOVED it until it dispersed more water through the back than the fron
The toaster, well; this is the second toaster of the same model We have purchased within a year! (The first, we lost the receipt when moving house) Both tosters started tripping the power circuit every time we used it. Never again - pulled the good old delonghi out of storage.
